I Corinthians: Gift Abuse

I Cor 14:1-40 Confusion & disagreement over "speaking in tongues" can keep us from hearing God say that corporate worship needs to be intelligible & orderly if it is to build up the body & reach the lost. Kevin's sermon is entitled, "Gift Abuse." In it Kevin concludes the topic of abuse of spiritual gifts in the local church.

I Cor 12:31-13:13 Christians who evaluate their spirituality by abilities or actions apart from authentic love usually arrive at an incorrect conclusion. Kevin's sermon is entitled, "Loveless is Worthless." In it Kevin begins to tackle the abuse of spiritual gifts in the local church.

I Cor 12:1-31 The Christian community, like a physical body, does not function properly when diversity within unity is replaced with division from pride. I Cor 11:2-16 Our society of freedom screams against the creative design of God and leaves many Christians confused about the roles of men and women. Kevin's sermon is entitled, "They're Watching." Kevin explains as Christians embrace their design and roles as males and females, they reflect to the world the kind of love and submission that God Himself demonstrated.

I Corinthians: Healthy Christian Freedom

I Cor 10:23-11:1 A healthy body is useful. An unhealthy body is a hindrance. Kevin's sermon is entitled, "Healthy Christian Freedom" In it Kevin explains the freedom God gives to Christians is a monumental blessing to be used in His service.

I Corinthians: Incompatible

God did not tolerate Israel's idolatry. He would not tolerate the Corinthian's idolatry. Kevin's sermon is entitled, "Incompatible" In it Kevin explains the simple fact that Lord will not tolerate ours either.

I Corinthians: Motivation Mathematics

A Christian's life can result in worthless actions when they are motivated by the wrong things. Kevin's sermon is entitled, "Motivation Mathematics"  In it Kevin explains the importance of evaluating ourselves and being willing to change the value of "x" if we need to.

I Corinthians: "Acting Like a Tentmaker"

Every Christian is a minister. Our attitude towards ourselves and our roles in ministry will determine our effectiveness as a tool in God's hand. Kevin sermon is entitled, "Acting Like a Tentmaker"  Kevin explains that ministry activity is not an "ends unto itself", is never about me, and is really about how we use our free time.

When Christians exercise liberty with arrogance instead of love it has the capacity to destroy their brothers and sisters. Kevin sermon is entitled, May I Take Your Order Please?  In it he explains that as Christians it cannot just be about what we want. We must love, limit and lead.

Being Oasis

Haven Baptist Church has unanimously voted to accept a new set of by-laws and governing documents which includes a new name - Oasis Church of Winter Haven. It is a very exciting time for our church. Kevin preaches this week a sermon entitled,  Being Oasis.  In it he explains to truly be Oasis church, we must be Oasis people.
